Connect Labs by Wexford is welcoming several new tenants to Aggie Square, including regional nonprofit Valley Vision and health-focused startups Tendel Therapies and Xironetic, further expanding the mix of organizations working within Sacramento’s innovation district.

The additions reflect continued momentum at Aggie Square as it enters its second year of operation, bringing together organizations focused on economic development, research translation, entrepreneurship, and health innovation.

“Connect Labs was designed to create opportunities for organizations at different stages and across sectors to work alongside one another,” said Monique Brown, Knowledge Community Director for Connect Labs. “The addition of Valley Vision, Tendel Therapies and Xironetic reflects the kind of collaborative ecosystem taking shape at Aggie Square, where researchers, entrepreneurs, nonprofits and industry partners can connect, share ideas and grow together.”

Valley Vision is a Sacramento-based nonprofit organization that conducts research, convenes regional partners and develops initiatives focused on economic development, workforce, sustainability and community well-being across California’s Capital Region. The organization works with public, private, and community stakeholders to address issues including workforce development, climate resilience, food systems, and equitable economic growth.

Also joining Valley Vision at Aggie Square are two UC Davis-affiliated startups working at the intersection of biotechnology and medical innovation. Tendel Therapies is developing vaccine technologies aimed at producing longer-lasting immune responses for infectious diseases and cancer, while Xironetic is advancing augmented reality tools that use patient imaging data to create three-dimensional visual guides for surgical procedures.

The organizations join a growing community of companies, nonprofits and innovation-focused organizations already located within Connect Labs, demonstrating continued interest in Aggie Square as a destination for collaboration, entrepreneurship and applied research.

Beyond Connect Labs, activity across the district continues to grow. ANOVA Aggie Square, the on-site residential community, has steadily added residents since opening last June and is now 99% leased. And Wexford Science & Technology continues to expand on its stable of signature events that are free and open to the public, most recently collaborating with the Center for Land Based Learning to bring their Mobile Farmer’s Market to Aggie Square on the first and third Wednesdays of the month through October.

As Aggie Square continues to welcome new organizations, residents and programming, the district is further establishing itself as a place where research, entrepreneurship, and regional partnerships can intersect to address real-world challenges and create new opportunities for the Sacramento region.
