May 22, 2025

On May 15th, 2025, Wexford Science & Technology opened Connect Labs Sacramento at Aggie Square, bringing together entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, and community leaders to celebrate a new chapter of innovation in the region.

The 50,000 square foot facility supports early-stage life science and technology companies with fully furnished lab and office space, shared scientific equipment, collaborative workspaces, and a curated set of services and amenities. The space reflects a commitment to helping founders grow their ventures with the resources and community they need to succeed.

The opening event featured speakers from across the innovation ecosystem, including George Baxter and Donald Taylor from UC Davis, Jaymee Davis from Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Monique Brown, Travis Sheridan, and Kyle Jardine from Wexford. Entrepreneurs Jacqueline Jackson and Christina Forbes traveled from Baltimore and Phoenix to share their experiences in other Connect Labs locations, while local founders Brad Niles and Ishita Shah shared insights into building their companies in the Sacramento region

Located within the UC Davis anchored innovation district of Aggie Square, Connect Labs is a launchpad for early-stage companies looking to scale with university partnerships, regional talent, and state-of-the-art infrastructure. In addition to private lab and office space, tenants have access to a dedicated lab director, meeting rooms, collaborative lounges, and ongoing programming tailored to startup growth.

The celebration also featured local small businesses, including refreshments and treats from KC Kombucha, Oak Park Brewery, Sugar Coated Cupcakes, Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates, and Silt Winery, as well as music from DJ Rockbottom. This blend of science, entrepreneurship, and community culture captures the spirit of Connect Labs, a place where innovation is built in conversation with the city around it.

Connect Labs Sacramento is already welcoming early-stage companies from the region and beyond. During the event, Monique Brown, Knowledge Community Director at Aggie Square, emphasized that the goal is to help companies grow in place, collaborate with UC Davis and industry partners, and stay rooted in the region as they scale.
